Lependorf & Silverstein Year in Review – Looking Ahead to 2017
Needless to say, 2016 was one whirlwind of a year with its highs, lows, and everything in-between. With the New Year almost upon us, we at Lependorf & Silverstein wanted to take some time to reflect on the things we were most thankful for this year.
I am thankful for Mother Nature and our great nation’s national parks – all of which, really, are national treasures – and all that they have to offer:
“Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.”
—John Muir, Our National Parks
– David Silverstein
Most importantly, I am thankful for my family’s health and happiness. With so much pain and suffering in the world, I know how fortunate I have been.
Secondly, I am thankful for the ability to play music. When I do so, I feel both invigorated and at peace. Whether I’m playing with other musicians or by myself, the limitless challenges and delights that music offers is a true blessing.
In the coming year, I am hopeful that my family will continue to experience good health and happiness, that I can help those that have not been as fortunate and that my music will continue to blossom.
– Gabe Lependorf
Each and every day I am incredibly thankful for my loving and supportive family, my partner, Chris, and our friends we are truly blessed to call family. I have a personal quote I coined that I always keep dear to my heart: Cherish life’s simple beauties and adore the beautiful ordinary.
Life is an amazing adventure! And I have been blessed with many unique experiences; however, I always make sure to appreciate that warm cup of tea on a cold winter morning; fuzzy socks fresh out the dryer; snuggling-up with our two cats on the couch, or even simply looking up at the sky on a clear and quiet night. These things are just as important to me and I am truly thankful I am able to find comfort in their simplicity and inspiration for my creativity. As my dad always told me, “Within the mundane are found the seeds of the sacred.”
