Camden County SUV Slams Into Bus, Injuring 15
Recently, 15 people, many of them children, were injured when a sports utility vehicle slammed into the back of a stopped school bus. The collision happened on a Friday morning in Gloucester Township in Camden County.
A school bus taking 30 children to Ann Mullen Middle School making a stop along Sicklerville Road, near Bryce’s Court intersection, in front of Village Green Lane. The school buses’ yellow lights had just begun flashing on the vehicle when a Hyundai Tucson rear-ended the bus. The car sustained major damaged to its front end, with its engine compartment completely crushed, and the hood pushed to the windshield.
A 25-year old man was driving the SUV when it collided with the bus. The man had 2 and 4-year old children in the vehicle with him when the accident happened. All three were taken to nearby hospitals, along with 12 children inside the bus. All injuries were reported to be minor. Witnesses to the crash stated the people drive fast through that area, despite the fact that there are regular bus stops along the route.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Keep in mind, if your son or daughter is involved in a bus accident, you may have grounds to take action.
