Princeton Man Injured in DWI / Bicycle Collision
A Princeton man was taken to the hospital with a facial injury after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle Friday night. The 66-year-old cyclist was riding along Alexander Street, near Dickson Street, around 1:35 a.m. when the bike accident took place. A Hamilton Township woman was driving north on Alexander St. in her Ford Windstar van when she struck the man.
According to Patch.com the man was then taken to the University Medical Center at Plainsboro. The woman remained at the scene and was detained by Princeton Police.
It was determined that the woman was driving under the influence while on her cell phone. The young woman was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and using her cell phone while driving. She was later released from custody.
